Possible shortage of potatoes – domestic production halves this year

There might be problems both with the quantity and quality of this year’s potatoes. The greater part of the harvest will be less tenable partly because of the improper potato tubers and also because of the weather.

Producers calculate with a total cost of 70 forints this year and there is no reason for the sales prize to drop below 100 forints. But this is only true for domestic products, which do not even cover half of the needs in Hungary. While earlier we have grown 600-700 tonns, this year is good if 350 tonns are produced.
