No matter how much you save, food and gadgets always take the money
Hungarian shoppers are simultaneously trying to save money and giving in to everyday temptations: research by Árukereső.hu reveals. Although many are trying to strictly manage their expenses, food and electronics are still the categories on which most people spend more than planned.
23.5% of respondents admitted that they tend to overspend when shopping for groceries at home, while 23.4% identified electronics and household appliances as their “weak point”. Restaurants, cafes and bars also made the list, with 8.7% saying they spend more than they would like. At the same time, almost every third Hungarian (30%) insists that they do not spend unnecessarily on anything, resulting in an interesting contradiction.
The numbers show a clear paradox: while shoppers are consciously striving to save money, everyday food and technological innovations are an irresistible attraction, undoubtedly due to the constant, everyday presence of these two categories. This is why the various functions of Árukereso are useful, allowing users to find the best possible price-value ratio. Árüsett produktés display real discounts, while authentic consumer feedback gives a complete picture of a product. With these, awareness and the intention to save can be present even in the event of overspending.
“There is a strong intention to save among Hungarian consumers, but everyday needs and the desire for technology often override plans. Árukereső helps consumers find the best possible offer in these situations: if they are already spending impulsively – as they admit – at least they should do so consciously considering the circumstances. That is why we are here.”
– said András Szták, the managing director of Árukereső.hu.
