HGYSZ: pharmacies are in a competitive disadvantage, compared to the drugstores and the hypermarkets
Pharmacies have several billion HUF losses, because the range of products that can be marketed in pharmacies is continuously narrowing – the Network Pharmacies Association (HGYSZ) told MTI on Monday. The organization has a proposal to decrease the competitive disadvantages.
According to the statement of the HGYSZ, their drafted proposals would help the sustainable operation of the sector without significant State interference.
As they wrote, the range of products that can be marketed in pharmacies is continuously narrowing causing competitive disadvantages. In parallel, the hypermarkets and drug stores can sell health-related products that cannot be marketed in pharmacies.
According to them, if the range of that can be marketed in pharmacies would be defined it would improve the situation as well as if the marketing rules would be clarified and standardized.
The HGYSZ submitted its proposals to the relevant bodies. (MTI)
