Hévíz is the most popular rural city
Nearly one million overnight stays were registered last year in Héviz, making the spa town as the country's most popular rural city – the Hévízi Turisztikai Nonprofit Kft. informed MTI on Wednesday.
According to datas of the Central Statistical Office (KSH) in 2011, 990,980 guest nights were spent in the city, and this figure is one-third more than in Hajdúszoboszló, which is the second rural city in the rankings. The result is particularly significant, because in several tourist regions, the number of overnight stays have decreased. In case of Hévíz, a more than 6 percent increase occurred, while hotel occupancy is above the national average. (MTI)
