Hévíz can be the most popular European destination

Budapest was the winner last year, and this year’s Hévíz will also have the chance to win the title of Europe’s most popular destination, the European Best Destination, which will be voted on Wednesday, the mayor of the city said at a press news conference on Tuesday.

Papp Gábor (Fidesz-KDNP) said that the competition, launched by more than 300 tourist organizations and the EDEN network created by the European Commission, has been organized for 9 years. Budapest was the winner last year, and this year Hévíz was ranked among the top 20 cities, including Paris, Rijeka or Athens, which is a recognition in itself. (MTI)
