Zamárdi beer will be ready by the weekend!
The first beer, named after the Balaton settlement, will be ready on Friday, which can be tasted for the first time in the city of its namesake, Zamárdi, at the Balaton Beer Weekend.
The Helka small-scale brewery in Balatonföldvár is making a lager for the first time in its life, to Zamárdi’s order. Craft beer, available on tap and in cans, will make its debut at the Balaton Beer Weekend, where guests can taste another 40 types of beer specialties. THAT’S IT! small-scale breweries from the Balaton and Transdanubia region will set up shop at the festival next to the terrace. In addition to Pécs’s smallest and largest craft brewery, Győr, Kőszeg, Tapolca, Balatonföldvár and Balatonvilágos also bring their best batches.
“It’s exciting to take a look at the beers of the Transdanubian region: here the big trends of the beer world are reflected in a small way. Everything is easier to drink and alcohol-free is conquering. In the meantime, boundary-pushing drinks like the Helka black Kölsche, which is a non-existent type of beer, are being created. The development of fruit beers has not stopped either , and we can already taste cherry cream ale from Steamcraft, while traditional lagers and pils are also getting more and more attention from brewers and consumers alike”
Dániel Bart, the host of the Balaton Beer Weekend, who organizes a beer standup during the 3-day event, combined with a tasting, told us about the trends and the festival’s offer.
