Back to six from seven
From 15 March 2015 shops stay closed on Sundays in Hungary. Who is this good for? Perhaps for families, but definitely not for the families of those 15,000-20,000 people who will lose their job because of the new law. May be it is good for retailers? Being open on six days instead of seven means lower overhead and other costs, and there is a chance that consumption won’t drop in the FMCG sector as people have to eat. Since there are no impact study results available, everyone is guessing whether turnover will fall or not. We will see in a couple of months.
