Seven-hour technical break at Tesco stores
Because of the VAT change a technical transition will be required in the 24 hours open hypermarkets of Tesco. The stores will be closed between 23 pm on the 30th June and 6 am on the 1st of July.
Because the technical transition will took for hours, all 0-24 hours Tesco stores will be closed in the country for that seven hours. The transition started with a two-month preparatory work, in which hundreds of professionals took part. The team will face the biggest challenge this night, because tens of thousands of products' VAT rate should be correct in the system and on shelf labels. "Nearly six thousand employees will stand in battle to ensure that for six in the morning, our customers do not feel anything from the transition, just a short night closure – told Hackl Mónika, Head of Communications of Tesco.
