Henkel: declining sales, increase in profits
In the second quarter of this year, Henkel sales decreased by 5 percent to 3,485 million euros, while operating profits increased to 279 million from 113 million euros and after tax results increased to 150 million euros from 42 million.
Consumer businesses like the laundry, household cleaners and cosmetics business results continue to show positive results with a 6.3 and 3.5 percent organic growth.
The Adhesive Technologies (bonding technology) business has improved in the first quarter, but due to the downturn, at the major industrial customers around the world, were not able to avoid an organic decline of 15.4 percent. The Company's financial results of investments has decreased from 24 million to 4 million euros – reports Henkel.
