Deputy State Secretary: promoting healthy eating is a strategic goal
The promotion of food quality, food safety and healthy eating is a strategic goal for the government – the Ministry of the Interior’s Deputy State Secretary responsible for strategic affairs stated on Saturday in Szolnok, III. At the finals and prize-giving ceremony of the cooking competition called Food of Hungary 2024, organized as part of the Hungarian Gastronomy Day event.
Karolina Molnár noted at the event held at the Szolnok Campus of the University of Debrecen: the motto of the competition is “Only from clean sources!”, because only high-quality, fresh and clean ingredients can be used to prepare food. Furthermore, because “the intention” which preserves cultural traditions, including gastronomic tradition, is “respectable”, he added.
“Only from a pure source!” – these words could not be more relevant at a time when Europe’s food safety situation has been upset by recent global events – he opined.
In his view, in this situation, it is particularly important that people commit themselves to high-quality food products from Hungarian producers, he stressed.
