Mountain Villages: fewer grapes this year
Fewer grapes will be harvested this year because of the frost – Brazsil Dávid, Secretary-General of the National Council of Wine Communities told M1 news channel on Saturday.
The Secretary-General said, that the damages can only be identified during budding, but it is certain that the amount grapes this year will be lower than in 2016.
He added that those grape varieties, which are grown in the Carpathian Basin are generally resistant to minus 15-20 degrees, but because of the damages last summer, their winter condition was inadequate, they are less resistant to the cold. (MTI)
