Wine Communities: A better than average grape harvest this year
According to the current outlooks, the grape growers and wine makers can harvest more than average quantity and quality of grapes this year – Horváth Csaba, the General Secretary of the National Council of Wine Communities told MTI on Monday.
Horváth Csaba said, that a minimum of 3 million hectoliters of wine can be delivered to the wine cellars, compared to the 1.8 million hectoliters of the last year.
He explained: this year there were no major frost damages in the Hungarian vineyards, storm damages have occurred in some areas, but these did not have yield reducing effect. The phytosanitary situation is satisfactory, no serious infection can be expected. (MTI)
