Hungary is Europe's leader in price rise
Inflation slowed slightly in April: consumer prices rose by 0.5 percent, compared to the previous month and increased by 5.7 percent, compared to last April. In March, the monthly increase was 0.7 percent and 5.9 percent on an annual basis.
In the first four months, prices were an average 5.9 percent higher than in the same period of last year. Over a month period – compared to March 2010 – the food prices increased by 0.5 percent. In the EU’s 27 member countries, prices were 1.9 percent higher in March 2010, than in March 2009 – reports the Central Statistical Office.
