Hungary is urging the EU to take immediate action in the pig sector
At a video conference of the European Union’s agriculture and fisheries ministers on 25 January, Hungary urged urgent measures to improve the situation in the pig sector. At the request of thirteen Member States, including Hungary, the situation in the pig sector was the key topic of the meeting.
Hungary was represented at the video conference by Feldman Zsolt, Secretary of State, responsible for Agriculture and Rural Development. The Secretary of State emphasized that the Hungarian pig sector was hit by two negative effects in 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic and the African swine fever. (AM Press Office)
