Hungary is the leading horseradish grower in the EU
In the European Union, about 30,000 tons of horseradish are produced annually, almost half of which in Hungary. In Hungary, in 2020 – on an area of about 1,400 hectares – 12 thousand tons of horseradish were produced. Domestic consumption is significant, with most horseradish being exported to Germany, the United Kingdom, Poland and the Czech Republic, essentially in unprocessed form.
