Billions could be saved with the production of domestic cultivar potatoes
According to the leader of the Keszthely-based potato cultivar working group, if the domestic potatoe producers would turn to the breeding of domestic cultivated potatoes, the sector could save billions of forints.
The domestic potato industry could save billions of forints if the domestic potatoe producers would turn to the breeding of domestic cultivated potatoes instead of producing Western European varieties. The dry, continental climate better suited to the cultivation of domestic varieties – told Polgár Zsolt, the leader of the Keszthely-based potato cultivar working group added.
