Hungarians spend HUF 12,000 a month on feeding their dogs
Feeding a dog costs an average of HUF 12,000 per month; Currently, four out of ten Hungarians have a dog at home, most of them take care of one dog – according to representative research by Cofidis.
According to the statement sent to MTI on Friday, an average Hungarian farmer spends at least HUF 190,000 a year on his dog. In addition to the food, the equipment, hygiene care, and general veterinary costs consume approximately HUF 47,000 per year. Compared with the 2018 research of the credit institution, it turns out that the costs increased by almost 33 percent in 5 years.
In the announcement, they also referred to the findings of another research, according to which dog owners are less anxious, feel less lonely, are more satisfied with their situation, and rate their mental state as better than those who do not own a dog.
