Official inspections and significant price reductions for products affected by margin reduction – announced the State Secretary of the Ministry of Finance
The Parliamentary State Secretary of the Ministry of Culture and Innovation, Róbert Zsigó, announced that the authorities are continuously monitoring compliance with the government’s margin reduction regulations introduced in March.
According to the information, so far:
-
more than 3,500 official inspections have been carried out,
-
nearly 100 public interest notifications were received,
-
at least 265 procedures were initiated,
-
and a total of more than 220 million forints were finally imposed.
The online price monitoring system currently more than 25 thousand products from nine store chains can be compared.
In the video attached to the post, Róbert Zsigó presented several examples of products whose prices have decreased significantly compared to March data. The listed cases are:
-
the price of a 140-gram, 12% semi-skimmed sour cream is approx. 60% lower,
-
the price of a 250 gram butter is also approx. decreased by 60%,
-
17 products saw their prices drop by more than 50%, including 150g plain yoghurt, which dropped from HUF 319 to HUF 133,
-
in some places, the price of a kilo of potatoes has decreased from 450 HUF to 200 HUF,
-
the price of some fine flour products has decreased by 188 HUF,
-
the price of a 250-gram curd cheese has decreased by 500 HUF,
-
The price of garlic per kilo has decreased in several stores from 3000 HUF to 1745 HUF.
The video stated that several significant price reductions can be measured among the products affected by the margin reduction.
