European consumer confidence reduces for the sixth consecutive month
Consumer confidence in the euro zone and in the European Union weakened in December.
According to the preliminary datas of the European Commission released on Wednesday; consumer confidence index of the euro area decreased to minus 21.2 points, from the minus 20.4 points of November. The index decreases for the sixth consecutive months now.
According to analysts; this means that in the forthcoming months, household consumption will decline and the risk that the euro zone will fall into recession early next year increases. According to the preliminary survey of the Committee in Brussels; the consumer confidence has reduced in December, in the whole EU, decreasing to minus 21.9 points from the minus 20.7 points of November – reports MTI.
