Six million tons of corn crop is expected this year
Although corn crop will be smaller than expected this year; about 6 million tons, price increases are not expected – the Deputy Director of the Agricultural Research Institute told MTI on Tuesday.
Potori Norbert, Deputy Director of the Agricultural Research Institute noted that the first estimates were about 8 million tons, but the current datas show that this year’s crop will not match 6 million tons. Despite the lower yield rates, price increases are not expected because the country's annual corn demand is 4.5 million tons. (MTI)
