ALDI won the Environmentally Conscious Retailer of the Year award for its environmental protection activities in 2021 and 2022
On September 10 and 11, 2022, ALDI was organizing a national pet food collection campaign. During the campaign, in any of the stores in Hungary, ALDI customers will have the opportunity to make donations in the form of pet food to animal protection associations and animal shelters in difficult situations.
The current collection of donations takes place in the same way as similar initiatives of the department store chain: this weekend, customers can drop off their donations in any store of the department store chain in Hungary. You can support animal shelters and animal protection associations in the area with any of the pet foods for cats and dogs available in ALDI’s permanent offer. The purchased pet food that you want to donate can be dropped off at the collection point located behind the cash registers after leaving the checkout.
Animal shelters participating in the promotion:
Humans for Animals Foundation – Győr
Misina Nature and Animal Protection Association – Pécs
Etyek Association of Animal Defenders – Etyek
Tappancs Animal Protection Foundation – Szeged
Animal Friendly Foundation – Nyíregyháza
With the donations collected during the two days – which will arrive at the animal shelters on World Animal Day – it is hoped that the situation of the animal protection associations and animal shelters will be eased. ALDI is confident that, thanks to the national action, it will contribute to feeding animals living in shelters without owners with good quality food.
