Huge changes at Tesco
Tesco renovated 25 of its stores in the 2022/23 fiscal year, which ended at the end of February. The renovations affected 12 hypermarkets and 13 convenience stores across the country so that customers could shop in a nicer environment and colleagues could do their work more comfortably. During the multi-billion HUF developments, the company optimized the size of the stores’ sales areas and renewed their design, and installed new self-service cash registers in several places in order to provide the fastest possible service.
From Kőszeg to Debrecen, a total of 25 Tesco stores received a new exterior and interior in the past year at Tesco. In addition to the renewal of the external facade and the complete interior painting, the most important changes affected the design and design of the sales area, as well as the transformation of the back, staff areas.
“In the past year and a half, I have visited all of our stores at least four times: it is great to see the renewal and development, and our customers have noticed this as well. For me, doing more for customers every day is not a slogan, but the driving force of my everyday life. Most of the renovations that took place last year affected the fresh goods areas of our hypermarkets, as we placed the bakery and vegetable sections next to each other, the floors, lighting and counters were renewed so that our customers can find all fresh products in one place. In addition, the clothing area awaits them with a new look, the entrance to the sales area has been renewed, and new navigation signs help you find your way around the stores. The renovations also extended to the staff dining room and back areas. With this, we also try to ensure that our employees can spend their rest time in a pleasant environment”
– said Martin Coulam, the operations director of Tesco Hungary.
Tesco has also made shopping easier with newly installed self-service cash registers, and in some renovated large stores it also cooperates with salespeople specializing in certain product ranges, so for example MediaMarkt operates within the sales area as a “store within a store”.
