With an investment worth tens of millions of euros, Kifli.hu has established its new logistics center in Biatorbágy. The online supermarket’s 16,500 square meter site is the largest investment in the history of its Czech parent company, Rohlik Group. The center features the most modern automation technology, significantly increasing capacity, providing even faster delivery and an even wider selection for customers.

Kifli.hu’s new 16,500 square meter automated warehouse has opened in Biatorbágy, which is one of the largest developments in Hungarian online food logistics in recent years. The investment of tens of millions of euros is a milestone not only because of its size, but also because of the technological solutions used: this is the most modern and largest warehouse of the parent company Rohlik Group, where an automated system is installed on nearly 5,000 square meters. Once full capacity is reached, the warehouse will be able to process and deliver 12,500 orders per day.

The essence of the new system is that for 80 percent of the products, it is not the workers who go to the products, but the products to them – this is the so-called “goods-to-picker” solution, which significantly speeds up the preparation of orders. As a result, work processes can be up to three times faster, minimizing the error rate and optimizing the use of resources. Artificial intelligence-based inventory management, as well as a carbon dioxide-based cooling system, LED lighting, solar panels and modern thermal insulation all contribute to efficient and sustainable operations. The system, which consists of approximately 200 robots and 60 thousand storage units, contains nearly 20 thousand products, which the robots automatically deliver to packaging, and these numbers will continue to increase as capacity increases.

The second location, which has just opened, employs around 100 new employees, and the continuously increasing total capacity will allow up to 400 people to be employed in warehouse processes, not counting couriers. The number of warehouse management and intellectual positions will practically double, but the number of technical and engineering teams will also expand significantly.

With the launch of the new warehouse, Kifli.hu will double its order management capacity, meaning it will be able to deliver more than half a million orders per month, which will mean more free delivery time slots than before, even during busy holiday periods. The development will enable faster delivery, guarantee a wider selection, and will also enable the expansion of express services (one and a half and two-hour delivery zones) in the Buda and western regions, which is also facilitated by the excellent location of Biatorbágy. With the new facility, Kifli.hu will reach approximately 55,000 new customers in the Bicske and Biatorbágy areas, who will now be able to enjoy the full range of services, including Express and 15-minute delivery time slots. Thanks to continuous optimization, Kifli.hu is working to be able to serve the entire Buda side – approximately 570,000 people – within two hours.

In addition to previously served settlements such as Budaörs, Törökbálint, Herceghalom, new cities, including Zsámbék, Etyek, Bicske and Felcsút, will be included in the coverage area from November 10, 2025, and further significant expansion is expected at the beginning of 2026. The current warehouse on Jászberényi út will be responsible for serving the Pest and eastern regions in the future, so the coverage of rural areas may also gradually expand. Kifli.hu is also planning to expand in the eastern part of the country, which will allow the company to reach areas that are currently not covered, such as Cegléd, Hatvan or Gyöngyös, in the future.

The new warehouse, unique in domestic online commerce, also serves as a pilot for Rohlik Group’s technological development, applying innovations that have only been in the test phase so far.
