The brewing industry giant prepares for a huge transaction
The world's largest brewer, the Anheuser-Busch InBev may announce that the company will buy Modelo’s share package, that has not gained yet – Bloomberg has reported referring to unnamed sources close to the case. The transaction value may exceed 12 billion USD.
According to the source of Bloomberg, the transaction can be officially announced this week. The Belgium-based AB InBev had obtained 50 percent influence in the Mexican Grupo Modelo company earlier. The brewers also are among those companies that are trying to expand outside of Europe, because the high unemployment rates and poor the economic processes are undermining growth prospects.
The spokespersons of AB InBev and Grupo Modelo did not commented on the transaction.
