Minister of Agriculture István Nagy and Otar Shamugia, Minister of Agriculture of Georgia held a meeting in Tbilisi. The parties agreed that the agricultural cooperation between the two countries holds enormous potential, since for Georgia our country can serve as the gateway to Europe, while for Hungary the Georgian partnership can open a way to the east. The heads of ministries signed a declaration of cooperation, which envisages, among other things, the cultivation of Hungarian-breeded seeds in Georgia, joint work in the field of viticulture and winemaking, and the launch of bilateral projects in relation to vegetable and fruit growing and honey production.
