There is huge interest in renewing the food industry
Tenders for the complex development of food industry plants were closed with overwhelming interest. More than 708 billion forints worth of requests were received for the call announced by the Ministry of Agriculture with a budget of 150 billion, said Minister of Agriculture István Nagy. The goal of the national government is to renew and keep the food industry in domestic control. Left-wing governments destroyed and sold the industry to foreigners, and they still represent the interests of foreigners today.
The head of the ministry reminded that it was György Raskó, adviser of the Tisza Party, who sold the Hungarian food industry to foreigners. Now they represent the interests of foreigners again. In Brussels, they support proposals that end up with large Ukrainian companies receiving area-based subsidies instead of Hungarian farmers. István Nagy explained that, on the other hand, the national government is committed to the fact that the full exploitation of the potential in the Hungarian agricultural and food sector is one of the most serious national economic interests. This is precisely why the Ministry of Agriculture launched its largest agricultural and food industry investment program after the regime change. Thanks to the maximum national co-financing of 80% provided for EU funds from 2021, HUF 400 billion have been spent on the development of animal farms, more than HUF 100 billion on the modernization of horticultural plants, about HUF 230 billion on the expansion of food industry capacities and HUF 180 billion in the last three years alone. for the transition of agriculture to precision farming. Thanks to the investments, the farmers can become stronger and the retaining power of the countryside can be further improved, he emphasized.
