Six candidates of the maize breeding department of the Agricultural Breeding Department of the Agricultural Research Center of the Eötvös Loránd Research Network (ELKH) (ATK MGI) received a state qualification and were also included in the common variety list of the European Union, ELKH told MTI on Thursday.
The pilot scheme for the production of maize hybrids covers several countries (eg Romania, Slovakia) and thus several areas with different climates. Thus, researchers can select hybrids that are best able to adapt to weather conditions. With the qualification of the new hybrids, the selection of corn maize from the Martonvásár Institute was enriched in all ripening groups, they said. (MTI)
