Food prices at a six-year low
According to a FAO survey, at global level the last time the price of food was this low was in September 2009. The biggest drop, 7.2 percent was measured in the price of dairy products; the main reason of this was the decline in demand for milk in China, the Middle East and North Africa. Vegetable oils’ price reduced by 5.5 percent from one month to another.
