Kifli.hu was launched six years ago. The online supermarket has now completely transformed the way many people think about shopping. Kifli has delivered more than ten million orders so far, which is estimated to have saved 40 million hours of time for Hungarian households. Over the past six years, more than 4 million pieces of nostalgic croissants, 1.4 million kilograms of Hungarian snake cucumbers, and nearly 1.4 million bunches of bananas have been placed in shopping carts – without queuing, finding parking, or carrying.

Queuing, finding parking, and carrying – these are no longer part of shopping for many people. According to Kifli.hu data, an average online order saves 3–4 hours compared to traditional in-store shopping. Since its launch, Kifli.hu has been around for six years, and with more than 10 million orders delivered, it has saved its customers nearly 4,500 years of time. In that amount of time, Michelangelo could have repainted the Sistine Chapel more than a thousand times. However, customers would rather spend this time on their families, relaxing or themselves.

When Kifli.hu was launched, the average basket value was 14,000 forints, today it is around 26,000 forints. In the past six years, a total of more than 4 million croissants, 1.4 million kilograms of snake cucumbers and nearly 1.4 million bunches of bananas have been sold. If we put all these products in a row, they would reach Madrid, which is 2,300 km away.

“Over the past six years, we have learned, among other things, that online shopping is not just a convenience. It is a real help in everyday life. The most important feedback for us is when our customers say: they have saved time – and they can spend this time on what really matters”

– emphasized Szilveszter Sasvári, Marketing Manager at Kifli.hu.

Today, hundreds of thousands of households regularly order online, whether it is for a quick dinner, a forgotten ingredient or the weekly grocery shopping. According to Kifli.hu, online shopping is slowly becoming not a convenience extra, but an everyday routine. In the first period, it was available in Budapest and some agglomeration settlements, but since then it has been gradually moving towards national coverage. A strategic milestone was the inclusion of Lake Balaton and Lake Velence in 2021, and the Zsámbéki Basin, Kecskemét and Várpalota areas in 2025. Since January this year, the service has been available in about 40 new settlements in Pest, Fejér and Komárom-Esztergom counties – including the Pilis area, as well as Tatabánya and Tata. According to plans, it will soon be possible to order from Kifli.hu in Győr and its surroundings.
