Vajda-Papír supplies three thousand people living in elderly care with hygienic paper products for one year in cooperation with the Maltese Charity Service
Vajda-Papír, Hungary’s leading manufacturer of hygienic paper products, donated a year’s worth of hygienic paper products for almost three thousand people involved in elderly care to the Hungarian Charity Service of Malta.
The charitable organization cares for around 2,700 elderly people every day in 27 residential and 7 day care facilities across the country, as well as with home help and home care. Father Imre Kozma, founding president of the Hungarian Maltese Charity Service and residents of the nursing home operating in the Fő utcai Gondviselés Háza, received the 10-ton donation worth more than HUF 30 million on November 15 at the center of the charity service. At the event, Father Imre Kozma drew attention to the fact that charity actions make Christianity alive, “active patriotism means that we are responsible for each other, for the narrower and wider community”. The offered hygiene paper products – including toilet paper, paper handkerchiefs and household paper towels – are enough for the entire national network for one year, so they can use the amount originally intended for this purpose, which is a huge help.
Attila Vajda, the founder and managing director of Vajda-Papír, said at the time of handing over the donation that Vajda-Papír has always prioritized social responsibility, especially supporting people in social need. Helping vulnerable social groups is of utmost importance at all times, and with the strengthening of companies’ social responsibility, they can take a significant burden off the social networks that provide for the needy. He called the high-quality care of the elderly and the disabled a particularly noble goal, which also contributes to the preservation of human dignity. He reminded her that many of those who end up in elderly care have no relatives, no supporting family behind them, and often require special health care. All of this puts a significant financial burden on the supply networks, and Vajda-Papír wants to provide traditional assistance in this, year after year, he said, noting that with the products now offered – toilet paper, paper handkerchiefs and household paper towels – the entire network of the Hungarian Charity Service for the elderly provided by Vajda-Papír for one year.
The executive recalled that their cooperation with the Hungarian Maltese Charity Service began in 2020. The corporate group You are all heroes! in a charity campaign organized under the title, supplied the social and health care network of the charitable organization with hygienic paper products. In the spring of 2021, the company provided 6,000 underprivileged children, and in the fall of 2021, hundreds of underprivileged families with enough sanitary paper products for a year. And last year, the hygiene paper products of three thousand people living with disabilities, enough for a year, were donated to the Hungarian Charity Service of Malta. The charity campaign, as in previous years, this year is Ooops! could be realized through cooperation with customers and partners.
