Excise duty may increase
A pack of cigarettes in Hungary could cost nearly HUF three thousand if the European Commission’s proposal is accepted. According to the draft document, the EU plans to reform the taxation of the tobacco industry.
All of this would double the excise taxes in the member states with low tax rates for tobacco products, reports tobaccomagazin.hu based on the Financial Times.
