Beer production increased again after three years in the Czech Republic
Last year, beer production increased again in the Czech Republic after three years of decline. The annual increase was 2.7 percent, compared to 2010 – the Czech Brewers Association announced on Thursday.
The production of Czech breweries increased steadily until 2007. The record was in 2007; 19.9 million hectoliters. Then in 2008 a half percent, in 2009 six percent, and in 2010 a 8.6 percent decline occurred in production. According to market experts, this was basically due to the international economic crisis. The domestic consumption declined and a reduction occurred in the number of tourists visiting the Czech Republic. (MTI)
