German sugar prices may increase by one-third
In Germany, the largest discount retail chain increased the price of sugar by 31 percent at the same time. The competitors will likely to follow the move as well, so the price of sugar may increase by one-third.
In the stores of Aldi Süd sugar prices increased from 65 cents to 85 (192 HUF 252 HUF) per kilogram in early October. Most participants of the retail sector are expected to follow the steps, because experience has shown that the supermarket chains adjust the prices of their own-branded products to the prices of Aldi – reports MTI.
