Prices of agricultural products up by a third
The prices of agricultural products were up by 33.9 per cent on average in February 2008, compared to February 2007. The prices of plant products were up by 46.9, while livestock and animal products were up by 17.6 per cent. Grain prices rose by 79.4 per cent, whereas the price of potato dropped by 16.8 per cent. The price rise amounted to 59.2 per cent for fruits and 8.1 per cent for vegetables. Livestock prices rose by 11.4 per cent on average. Animal products produced a price rise of 27.2 per cent.
