Romanian honey export decreased by one-third
Romania exported 4,476 tons of honey, in the first eight months of this year, almost 31 percent less than a year ago – said the Romanian Ministry of Agriculture. Romania is currently the fourth largest honey producer in Europe after, Germany, France and Hungary.
The number of bee colonies is nearly 1.2 million. Revenues from honey export decreased by 18.5 percent to 14.83 million euros. Romania imported 812.6 tonnes of honey for1.934 million euros. The amount was higher by 60 percent, value by 80 percent compared to the previous year – writes agromonitor.hu.
