Happy Fish at the “Happy guest” hotel
After a hard day on the road to get to a long-winded meeting with boring colleagues you just need cheering up.
Waiting in your hotel room, you need someone to share the weight of the world, someone to listen, in short you need… a goldfish.
Now one hotel is hiring out the pets for lonely guests. The Happy Guest Hotel Lodge in Dutton charges £5 to have ‘Happy’ in their room for the night. He can be pre-booked on the hotel’s website the same way as breakfast or champagne.
Owner Jeff Riley said: ‘A lot of guests spend many days away from home. ‘It can be lonely for those travelling alone but now, when our guests return to their hotel rooms after a difficult day at the office, Happy could be there to give them unconditional love and a valuable sounding board.
