Balázs Hankó: the sectoral skills councils are being renewed
The sectoral skills councils will be renewed, in which, in addition to vocational training and the economy, actors from higher education will now also be included – said the state secretary of the Ministry of Culture and Innovation (KIM) responsible for higher education, innovation, vocational training and adult education in Budapest on Tuesday.
Balázs Hankó stated that the aim of the innovation is to ensure that, in addition to vocational training, higher education also operates much more intensively, in accordance with the needs of the economy.
He emphasized that all of this is important because the essence of the competitive Hungarian model is the cooperation between the renewed vocational training, the renewed higher education and the Hungarian economy in order for the Hungarian youth to become successful.
The state secretary said that, in addition to traditional professions, Hungarian vocational training also performs well in new, technology-intensive and high-technology manufacturing professions. It is also attractive, since six out of 10 choose vocational training after the 8th grade of primary school.
He also touched on higher education, which, according to him, was successfully renewed. Higher education institutions are moving forward despite all kinds of “brawling from Brussels”: 12 Hungarian universities are in the top 5 percent of the world, he said.
