A hotel reopens under the Hampton by Hilton brand in the Transylvanian Islands Mountains
A hotel under the brand name Hampton by Hilton is reopening in the popular tourist area of the Transylvanian Archipelago, on the shores of the Jósikafalv (Béles) reservoir in Cluj County, Ziarul Financiar reported based on the owner company’s statement.
The Romanian economic newspaper wrote that the popular tourist facility – which previously operated as a hotel – will be modernized with an investment of 20 million euros. The six-hectare tourist complex was purchased last year by the Transilvania Trek company group, which plans to open it under the Hampton by Hilton brand in the second half of 2026.
The Cluj-Napoca company already announced the cooperation with the international hotel chain last year, but the investment originally announced for 2025 will be completed a year later. Andreea Blaj, CEO of Transilvania Trek, justified this with large-scale transformation works, as she said, they are currently finalizing the concept, which targets several segments of the market.
ZF reminds us: the Cluj-Napoca company specializing in hotel management was founded in 2014 by businessman Laurentiu Russo. The entrepreneur previously bought a hotel in Cluj with an investment of 10 million euros and relaunched it under the brand name DoubleTree by Hilton.
According to the local news portal Apuseni.info, the tourist complex on the banks of the Jósikafalv reservoir consists of two buildings, as well as two restaurants and three villas. The complex was built in 1974, then renovated in 2005, and has been advertised for sale for 15 years.
