Hungarian mangalica pig is counterfeited in the Japanese market
Kovács László, CEO of Pick Szeged Zrt reported told to agrarhaszon.hu that Japanese wholesalers are selling Hungarian mangalica meat at the Japanese market, at very low prices.
The fake ’Hungarian’ mangalica can completely destroy the Japanese mangalica market, which is offered on a similar price as normal pig, despite it is well-known that the price of mangalica has a multiple price. A well-established "customer relationship" was appalled by the fact that bad quality, cheap goods are offered as mangalica. It was concluded that the goods are clearly not Mangalica, because the Japanese trader selling counterfeit Mangalica and copied pictures from the website of Hungarian Mangalica and advert texts refers to the products offered.
Pick Szeged Zrt.’s letter asked the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to investigate and prevent the further outflow of illegal meat.
