Counterfeited food products in Hungary
Honey, cream, milk – these products are considered to be the most counterfeited foodstuffs in Hungary. In general, we can find these products in the commodity markets, however the detection is not easy – the legal background is missing. In addition, the number of fake food products is growing throughout the EU.
In Hungary 63 percent of the respondents bought these fake foods at the markets. One fifth of the customers purchased fake food products on the street – shows the 2011 research called Counterfeiting in Hungary of the National Board Against Counterfeiting. One of the most interesting statement of the survey, that 2 percent of the Hungarians would buy uncertain sources of food any time, while 10 percent maybe – reports penzcentrum.hu.
