The National Agricultural and Food Exhibition and Fair (OMÉK) will open its doors again between September 18-21, where representatives of the domestic agricultural profession, the food industry and the general public can meet each other directly on nearly fifty thousand square meters, at Hungexpó. OMÉK is not just an exhibition, but a complex professional and family event that presents the innovations, traditions and results of Hungarian agriculture. Modern agricultural machinery, animal shows, interactive stands, artisanal flavors and business meetings in one place – all at an affordable price, offering a unique experience for professionals, producers and visitors alike. This time we will take a look at the professional programs of the event.

OMÉK: where the agricultural profession meets

OMÉK provides a unique opportunity for farmers, agricultural professionals, professional organizations and consumers to meet each other directly. Among the exhibitors will be domestic producers, distributors, food manufacturers, and distributors of the most modern agricultural machinery. There will also be a stand for the MAHOP campaign to encourage fish consumption, “Kapj rá!”, where, as usual, a giant aquarium will be set up to display freshwater fish native to Hungary. The pavilion will also feature the Rural Development Program’s results demonstration stand, and there will be an opportunity to get to know the members of the CAP network (Common Agricultural Policy).

Spectacular agricultural machinery and animal displays

A large-scale agricultural machinery display awaits those interested in Pavilion A, with the participation of MEGFOSZ (National Association of Agricultural Equipment and Machinery Dealers) and co-exhibitors. Visitors can see the latest developments in modern agriculture, including sowing technology, power machinery, soil cultivation, nutrient and plant protection.

But it is not just the machines that play a major role: professional presentations, exciting curiosities and a special machine museum are also located in the pavilion, which is a real time travel in the world of agricultural technology. Courtesy of the Hungarian Livestock Breeders’ Association, visitors can enjoy various farm animal presentations, including cattle, horses, pigs, sheep, goats, rabbits, pigeons and bees. There is also a petting zoo for the little ones and animal lovers. Native Hungarian animal species will also be introduced in the open air. In the native yard, among other things, a demonstration of grey cattle oxen, giant rabbit petting, a folk playhouse and a presentation of regional vegetables and fruits await those interested.

Hungarian Food Summit – takes business relations to a new level

The Hungarian Food Summit, which debuted in 2023, was a huge success: nearly 1,000 business negotiations took place in a single day between Hungarian manufacturers and foreign buyers. This unique B2B event will return in an even larger volume in 2025, aiming to help Hungarian food industry companies enter foreign markets. This year, more than 70 Hungarian exhibitors and 200 international buyers will meet, opening up new opportunities for domestic exports. The event is expected to attract food industry buyers and distributors from a total of 36 countries who are seriously interested in Hungarian exportable products.
