African swine fever has also appeared in Hajdú-Bihar county
African swine fever was detected in Hajdú-Bihar county. The virus of the disease was detected by the Laboratory of the National Food Chain Safety (Nébih) in three dead wild boars in the area under observation.
The disease probably came from the Romania during the natural migration of wild boars, as a large number of wild boar cases have been found in the neighboring Romanian regions in recent months.
The infected wild boars were found at the border of the Nyírábrány and Álmosd villages of the Hajdú-Bihar County, and the area was already under surveillance in the past due to the Romanian swine outbreaks. (MTI)
