Scottish wine can win over French wine
More than fifty French wine and food expert, wrote an open letter that called for action against global warming. Otherwise, Scottish wine can win the battle against French wine.
Because of the climate change, a high number of French wineries are in threat, due to the risk of dehydration, especially in the vicinity of Bordeaux – states the signatories. If the end of the century the average temperature increase by 2 percent, grapes can be produced at areas where it is almost inconceivable now, for example, Great Britain, Scotland or Sweden. However, according to some estimates in 2080 the south of England will be too hot to produce grapes.
Therefore, the December climate conference in Copenhagen in the developed countries should assume to reduce carbon dioxide emissions with 40 percent to 2020 – reports Pénzcentrum.hu.
