Rapid alerts
RASFF (Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed) operates in the member states of the EU. Through this system member states report to the European Commission if human health hazards occur, which originate from food or feed. In Hungary, it is the Food Safety Office (MÉBiH) that is responsible for alerting the Commission.
After alerts are sent, the RASFF system categorises them according to the level of risk. The four categories are: alert notification, information notification, border rejection and news.
