Chinese export growth has accelerated

Chinese exports increasing
The Chinese customs service on Tuesday said the dollar-denominated value of exports rose 25.6 percent year-on-year in August. Chinese exports thus increased for the fourteenth consecutive month in August. Analysts expected the rate of expansion to slow, rising 17.1 percent after rising 19.3 percent in July. In August last year, Chinese exports grew more modestly, by 9.5 percent, partly because the global economy was still held captive by the coronavirus pandemic. (MTI)
