Economic growth accelerated in the euro area in the first quarter
Economic growth accelerated in the euro area and in the European Union in January-March, compared to the last quarter of last year. Hungary’s economy increased the most within the Member States – according to the second estimate reported by the Statistical Office of the European Union (Eurostat).
In the first quarter, seasonally adjusted gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 0.4 percent in the 19 states of the euro area and in the EU-28. Quarterly GDP growth was 0.2 percent in the euro area in the fourth quarter of 2018 and 0.3 percent in the EU. (MTI)
