Fast food restaurants: what is popular abroad, not sure that is popular in Hungary
The Hungarian market conditions are not surely favorable for the international fast food restaurant chains. Most of the major international companies have bankrupted, with a smaller or bigger loss.
Those who remained, adapted the requirements of the Hungarian domestic market, or stayed because of prestige reasons. According to the market participants those who fell like Wendy's, Dunkin’ Donuts, Dairy Queen, or the Belgian-French Quick – had several common features. These companies arrived to Hungary with strong network building willingness, but in many cases, the parent companies tried to operate the local subsidiaries remotely and tried to sell their foreign business models in Hungary, without any changes – reports Népszabadság Online.
