Retail Market Continues Rapid Growth in Russia
The retail trade grew 17% to US$40bn in February this year compared to the same month a year earlier, according to figures from the Federal State Statistics Service.
Retail trade stood at nearly US$78bn in
January-February 2008, up 16.3% against the same period in 2007.
Retail companies and individual
entrepreneurs operating by means of permanent retail outlets
accounted for 86.3 percent of total sales in February 2008, while
marketplace trade contributed the remaining 13.7 percent.
