The bird flu has also reached the county of Győr-Moson-Sopron
The presence of bird flu virus was detected in the county of Győr-Moson-Sopron by the laboratory of the National Food Chain Safety Office (Nébih). The liquidation of the affected stock and the epidemiological investigation are in progress. The authority draws the attention of animal keepers to the fact that they cannot continue to relax the epidemic discipline.

In the fattening turkey colony of about 26,500 animals located in the Bőny settlement of the Győr-Moson-Sopron county, the animal bloat and the increased mortality aroused suspicion in the animal keeper. The Nébih laboratory confirmed the H5N1 subtype of the virus from the dead animals. The liquidation of the affected stock is in progress. A protective zone with a radius of 3 km was designated around the farm, and a surveillance (observation) zone with a radius of 10 km was established.
As the above and previous cases prove, the highly pathogenic bird flu virus is still present in the country
Although the lifting of protection and surveillance districts has begun in some affected areas, the epidemiological discipline must still not be relaxed. Everything must be done to ensure that no more poultry farms become affected by the epidemic. It is in the common interest of the sector and the authority that the resettlement of the stocks can begin as soon as possible. That is why Nébih continues to ask livestock keepers to consistently and strictly observe the epidemic prevention regulations.
