Gyopáros Alpár: from Thursday, small shops in the village can apply to support their operating costs
Village small shops can apply for support for their operating costs from Thursday, the government commissioner responsible for the development of modern settlements told MTI on Wednesday.
In his statement, Alpár Gyopáros said: the Russo-Ukrainian war and the failed Brussels sanctions policy in response to it presented serious economic challenges to village small shops, which are already capital-poor and at a competitive disadvantage, and the government therefore decided to provide them with additional assistance in order to so that even the people living in the smallest settlements in Hungary are provided with daily food supplies.
It was announced that all business owners who operate small shops in settlements with less than 2,000 inhabitants, where they typically sell daily consumer goods and basic foodstuffs, can apply for the operating subsidy. The amount of support that can be obtained is between HUF 1 million and HUF 3 million per store, which is a one-time, lump-sum, 100 percent pre-financed, non-refundable, and does not require personal resources.
In the framework of the application, the costs related to the operation, for example the wages of the employees in the store, the employer’s public charges, the rental fee and the overhead costs, can also be accounted for. The application can only be submitted electronically, through the National Policy Information System of Bethlen Gábor Alapkezelő Zrt., on Thursday, January 12, from 10 a.m. until January 31, the announcement states.
